We get up relatively early and try to find breakfast in nearby Baywood
Park and Los Osos,but it takes us a long time to find a restaurant,
as we seem to have come into an area that is purely residential.
Then its on to San Luis Obispo, which is a very nice looking hip
college town. On to Pismo Beach,
where we had lunch at Mo's BBQ.
There was a large number of riders going by, and people kept asking us
about it, thinking we were part of it, and it eventually became clear
that the 2500 strong aids ride from SF to LA was going on, and was
taking much the same route that we were.
It was a bit pesky having the extra traffic, and it made me ride
faster than I probably would have, but it was kinda fun.
From there we rode with them to Guadalupe, where they turned off to
Santa Maria, and we went straight on 1, eventually rolling into Lompoc
about dusk. We got a room at the Motel 6 for the night.
